Fundamentals of Improv with Andy Davis
Saturdays, 10AM - 12PM April 16 through May 7 In the Cellar at Four County Players AGES 16 AND UP LIMITED TO 10 STUDENTS Cost is $160 for the 4-week workshop. Four County Players and Bent Theatre Members receive a $20 discount. ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: This four-week class focuses on developing the fundamentals of improv comedy as seen performed by “Whose Line Is It Anyway,” “Wild ‘n Out,” The Second City, The Upright Citizen’s Brigade, and Central Virginia’s own Bent Theatre. During each session, you will learn how to build stories, characters, relationships, and more from virtually nothing. Within this interactive, creative, and supportive environment, our goals will be to help you develop new abilities, grow in confidence, learn teamwork and problem solving skills, and (most importantly) have fun! Do to the nature of improv, there may be adult language used in scenes. We are restricting this to those AGES 16 AND UP. ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Andy Davis has over 16 years of improv experience with Bent Theatre, performing in hundreds of shows across the Mid-Atlantic, and has been teaching in Central Virginia since 2009.
