Improv I Classes (Starting October 13)

Bent Theatre is excited to provide our Improv 101 classes!

8-Week Class
Sundays (starting 10/13)
6:30pm - 8:30pm
Ages 15+
Cost: $200

Learn the fundamentals of improv as an art form and performance tool.  Our 8-week class will take you from the basic skills of inspiring spontaneous creation to full-fledged group storytelling and scene work.  Bent Theatre's Improv I class focuses primarily on improv as a comedy, performing short-form and theater games, but there is so much more to it than that.  During our classes, you will learn to:

• Embrace spontaneity and extemporaneous creation.
• Develop theater performance skills.
• Improve your public speaking and storytelling skills.
• Hone your comedic wit and timing
• Collaborate with other performers and polish teamwork skills.
• Polish your storytelling
• Become different characters thru voice, physicality, and personality
• Conquer your fear of the unknown
• Make something from nothing
• Play games and embrace your inner child
• Have way too much fun!

The class will take place in Charlottesville. The location will be announced to accepted students prior to the first class.

Meet Your Instructor:

Andy Davis has been performing with Bent Theatre since 2006. A student of Jenn Horne's Fall 2005 Improv Workshops, he has been teaching with Bent Theatre since 2009, many of his former students are now performing members with Bent and other improv troupes around the country.
